Spring show in Brockport

____O^-o June 2010, the VA in Brockport Ny was hoppin with hotrods, lowriders, stockers and even a couple bikes.

___O^-0 The best paint of the show was this sweet cuttlas with its multi tone candy/pearl combo paint. The car was done by the owner but you would have thought it was a $20,000 paint job. Good Work.

___O^-o Sweet wagons everywhere including this beut' 1964 Falcon.

____O^-o All in all this is a great show with hot cars, fast cars, loud cars, food, music, and even yes.....Burnouts!

6-5-10 All Ford Carlisle show

---->Last year was my first Carlisle event and since then i plan i attending the ALL FORD show every year i can. As a ford guy it warming to see all the fords from old race cars to new customs and even on of the largest swap meets ive ever seen. The show is almost half and half with the cars and swapmeet and you can find almost anything ford you could ever need. One of my cars is a 72 torino Base model Coupe meaning the front nose is totally different than any other torino ever seen. these cars where cheap to perchase and were mostly scraped in the seventies because of lack in value. At the event this year i managed to find a front grill ( Super Rare) and a set of bumpers which as i said is a major feat. This year the show had a bunch of original ford Cj racers and their cars, Auto cross, Burnouts, Bikinis and much much more.
---> Not everyday you have an original ford CJ drive by you and load into a truck (loud!).
.

--->562000 mile , same owner, same engine!

----> Insane wast of money award goes to this guy.

Charlotte Foodlion Auto show April 8th-11th 2010

---> Sun..Fun...Tons of Cars....what else do you need.

----> Best wagon. This former family car has become my fetish. Lately ive had a little thing for wagons and thing one is a good example of a low, long ,and fast machine of my dreams.

----> Best lowrider goes to this Gmc truck. This truck has had some serious work done from the rear rollpan to the fiberglass interior. On the ground and looking good.

----> Worst way to spend money goes to this Roadrunner "THING". From the horrible Polished Wing to the chrome interior this thing is u.g.l.y.

---->My favorite car of the show goes to........ I hate to admit this but i have no idea what make this car is. I'm not the best at identifying these older car but perhaps thats why i admire them soo much. This particular car caught my eye with its tail end. The bumper has been removed and replaced with some custom roll pan looking work. The frenched antenia, Lake pipes/fish tails, side skirts, pinstriping, shaved door handles, custom grill and not to mention the flathead under the hood.

Charlotte Food Lion Auto Fair April 8-11 2010

AHHH this was a great weekend for fans of Cars and Sun. The show runs four days and starts thursday and ends sunday. My wife and I have atended this show for 5 years straight and this year left us with some mixed feelings.

--->Day one Saturday 4-10-10. &am. Buzzer goes off and I'm feeling great. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping and Wow, my wife's ready to go. If you've ever been to Charlotte you know that the place is a zoo as far as traffic goes. Knowing this we stay about 20 miles north of the city in a town called Mooresville. Its cute and they have plenty of "chain " stores and restaurants to keep you busy. That first morning all i could smell was Cracker barrel so we headed across the parking lot to the rustic eatery. If you've never been to a Cracker barrel it is an interesting place. First off looks like a barn but when you walk in they have tons of Junk everywhere like, lawn ornaments, aprons, cheap kid toys, candles, canned food and lots of over priced crap. They lead you to a room and ask " Smoking or non? " and seat you in a wobbly wood table surrounded with old farm tools on the walls. The Food was " OK" meaning i was not excited but not disappointed. After the " OK" breakfast we headed down to the track via back roads and i have to say that this is as much fun as the show sometimes. While driving down back roads in the south you can find just about any kind of car in a carport of out back of a house in the grass. We saw old ford trucks, Chevelles, Fairlanes and even seen a 60's comet for sale! We followed a low rider truck that I'm guessing was a Toyota but it was ragged out and looked like it was gonna fall apart. For some reason the rear axle was hopping down the road as if the rear wheels were drilled at home and were way off! Scary.

----As we pulled into the parking lot we spotted a nice mid 70's Elcamino and the blood started to pump.

----200 yards worth of walking and we were in the presence of beauty. The upper deck of the track where the vendors sell crappy food and the bathrooms during Nascar events are housed get filled with car clubs but usually "younger, odder" clubs. The low riders and imports were in full effect with an amazing full size GM duelie (kind of) on the ground and a 96 Honda hatchback with some strange Acura Motor swap that Ive never seen. We saw a couple Gran Torinos up there and some nasty looking Toyota Supra's.

----Down on the track and the cars meant business, The Comet east , southeast Ford, Gm performance, Mustang, and a bunch of other clubs were in full effect. There was also a ton of cars for sale out and around the track but prices were through the roof!

----The infield was busy with the sounds of people selling and haggling over old parts and stuff. The Swap meet here is huge.

----After wandering the infield for hours we headed outside the track to the overflow swap meet field and that was just as huge. I haggled a little over some " Hot rod Lincoln " parts and a set of headers that didn't fit anything but no sale.

----Six hours of walking and drooling we left with some sunburn and a small bag of fuel filters. I was a little disappointed in the lack of ford parts and the prices of used parts and cars.

----Day two for us was Sunday which was the last day for the event. The swap meet was pretty much empty buy noon but the cars were still in full effect even though the mood was somber.

----To cut this trip short, we at the best burgers at a place called The Penguin, stayed in an actual log cabin, ate a deep fried PBJ sandwich, climbed some crazy high waterfalls in the mountains, and had some Good Ol' Southern Fun.

Hamburg march 2010

------> Through a strange twist of events my wife and I ended up on a saterday with nothing to do, when I remembered there was a car show going on. It was in Hamburg NY on March 6th at the fairgrounds in side a large building away from the elements. As we entered the building I was a little amazed that this was going on. There was a live band, an airbrush/pinstripe show, motorcycles, cars, and more cars. As we moved through the sea of people i managed to take some photos from my trusty cell phone and have judged the top five in my eyes. Here they are, a chevy wagon, ford model A, T bucket, new camaro, and an old camaro.......ENJOY!
-----> 1st place was this crazy wagon sporting a huge twin blown sbc. Now I wish I had asked more about the car but at the time all I could come up with was " ahh... does it run? Now I know youve prob been asked 20 times in the last few but what kind of hp?" About this time the guy just smiles and said ..." bout 850 " . This thing was nuts , it even has nos hooked up....crazy!

----->2nd goes to this retro looking custom job. Like many of these cars this one was custom from front to back. Everything was cream colored and blue. Sliding top, wood seats and chrome everything round off this beauty.
----->3rd for me was this rat rod. Normally cars like this dont look finnished but this thing was dialed. Everything from the rear end to the headlight brackets was custom and lets face it this thing looks COOOL!

----->4th goes to a 2010 Chevy Camaro? This car was more of a glorified Hotwheels than a street car. Every body panel was hand made or Carbon fiber. Custom twin turbo along with the intake. NASTY!
-----> last but not least 5th. First gen Camaro pro street. Ive seen these in all the usual mags for most of my life but it still hits my soft spot when you see one up close in this form. It was a rat powered, lift off front end, wheelie bar, parachute, roll caged beast and I want one!
-----> To sum it up, this little known show out in southern Buffalo was well worth 10 bucks and the drive down. We even hit up TEXAS ROADHOUSE on the way back.... good day.
